Clip on a long line in a low-distraction space. Say the recall cue once, move backward, and reward generously when your dog reaches you.

After rewarding, release your dog back to exploring sometimes. Recall should not always predict that freedom ends.

Increase either distance or distraction—not both in the same session. Keep the long line attached until the response is dependable.
